The roof of a house/Female genitalia

This Rune may be the origin of the Sheela-Na-Gig (which is actually of Norman not Celtic origin) the icon being used to disguise the outlawed Rune come the medieval period. Traditionally the home was passed down the female line within northern families; the women carried the keys to the house. It was the one possession (which this rune can mean) which remained in the family from generation to generation. This rune can therefore relate to inheritance within the family (material or otherwise) and material wealth.
