Ing is the danish name for Frey; the god of male fertility. In the Anglo-Saxon Rune Poem it states that he came to England and made his home there; he is therefore the ancestor of the English people - the male progenitor of the race. It therefore relates to fertility; the active creation of life and the active act of birth which follows. It can in this context mean the completion of a plan or enterprise, which has been followed through from begginning to end; and the resultant freedom from worry.
