- Is Anybody Listening?
- When
Nile-born Isis spread her rainbow wings
-
From Nubia to York,
-
From Asia to the Pillars of Hercules,
-
Her silver voice rang clear: "There are no frontiers."
-
- Was anybody listening?
-
- When the Nazarene drank at the Samaritan well,
-
When loinclothed Ghandi stilled massacres with a word,
-
When Geldof swayed the spellbound stadium,
-
The word rang clear:
-
"There are no frontiers."
-
- Was anybody listening?
-
- In distant Chernobyl, one concrete room berserked;
-
And round the world the Geigers clicked:
-
- "There are no frontiers."
-
- Is anybody listening?

For God's sake -
